Which Social API

Upfluence review

An all-in-one influencer and affiliate platform built for Shopify and Amazon brands. Its creator database is small, its API is for existing customers, and the 12-month minimum is the top complaint.

The short version

Pick it if

  • You sell on Shopify or Amazon and want affiliate, gifting and payouts in one place
  • You want to find creators among your own customers
  • You already pay for Upfluence and want its data in your own stack

Skip it if

  • Finding creators is the main job
  • You don’t want to sign for 12 months
  • Fake-follower checks matter to you

Upfluence is an ecommerce tool first and a database second. It matches your own customers against its creator data through Shopify and Klaviyo, says it’s the only influencer platform with a native Amazon integration, and builds in affiliate codes, one-click product shipping and creator payouts. Its AI co-pilot, Jaice, was relaunched in September 2026 to run campaigns from shortlist to negotiation.

As a source of creator data it’s thin. It claims 12M+ creators, against hundreds of millions at Modash and HypeAuditor, we couldn’t confirm a fake-follower score, and its API docs say X post content and blogs are no longer supported. Pricing is quoted by module with a 12-month minimum, and that lock-in dominates its 3.0 Trustpilot rating.

Using Upfluence

Signing up

There’s no self-serve sign-up. A free trial is set up after an initial call, and API access comes through an account manager. Trial accounts can authenticate against the API, but the credits endpoints only work on API-enabled accounts.

Making a request

Requests go to https://api.upfluence.co/v1 as JSON over HTTPS, with a Bearer token from Upfluence’s identity service. You get the token with client credentials or a refresh token, and it’s scoped per app. Your token balance and usage come from the credits endpoints.

Documentation

Public, OpenAPI-based docs at docs.upfluence.co, with sections on authentication, credits, errors and rate limits, search, workflow campaigns, streams, payments and an MCP server, plus a token simulator. Rate limits are about 20 requests a second or 100 concurrent, with 429s beyond that.

Verdict

7.1

Buy Upfluence if you’re a Shopify or Amazon brand that wants creator search, affiliate codes, product shipping and payouts under one contract, and you’re comfortable signing for 12 months. That ecommerce depth is why it ranks seventh of ten databases. For finding creators, Modash and Influship are better, cheaper to start and easier to leave. Its API ranks last of five: the docs are good, but the data is thinner than its rivals’, and it only makes sense if you already pay for the platform.
