The short version

Pick it if

  • You’re an in-house ecommerce team working on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
  • You want to see the price and try everything before talking to sales
  • You’re building creator search into a product and can commit to $16,200 a year

Skip it if

  • You need X, Twitch, LinkedIn or Snapchat
  • You’ll regularly hit monthly caps on opened profiles and email unlocks
  • You want API access monthly or pay as you go

Modash is a self-serve influencer platform for in-house teams: discovery, CRM, inbox, content tracking, Shopify gifting, affiliate management and creator payouts in one app. It says it indexes 380M+ public profiles with 1,000 or more followers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and the search on top is the deepest in the category, with AI search, image search, lookalikes, audience filters on age, gender, location and language, and “influential fans” who already follow you.

It also explains how its numbers are made, which most rivals don’t, and it publishes prices for both the app and the API. The limits are the catch: monthly caps on profiles and emails in the app, and an API that starts at $16,200 a year with no monthly option.

Using Modash

Signing up

The app is self-serve: a 14-day trial with no card and every feature, limited to 20 profile views, 6 email unlocks and 10 tracked creators. Monthly plans have no contract. The API is bought separately, annually, by bank transfer, and testing credits come through a sales call.

Making a request

Authenticate with a Bearer token from the developer page in the Modash app. Search returns 15 results a page, and there are two free test calls: an Instagram search with empty filters and a report for @instagram. GET /account shows the credits and Raw requests you have left.

Documentation

OpenAPI-based docs at docs.modash.io, split into the Discovery API (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, AI search, collaborations, search by email) and the Raw API for live posts, reels, comments and follower changes. Rate limits are tight on the expensive calls, about 2 requests a second for reports and search, shared across every key on an account. API customers get a dedicated account manager.

Verdict

8.8

Modash is our pick for most in-house teams, and it leads our influencer database ranking. The app has published prices, a real trial and deep filters on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube; the API has the deepest vetting data behind any creator API we’ve reviewed, and ranks second only to Influship’s search. Look elsewhere if you need X or Twitch (HypeAuditor), want to spend less (Heepsy), or want API access without a $16,200 annual commitment (influencers.club or Influship).

Questions

How much does Modash cost?

Essentials is $199 a month billed annually or $299 monthly, Performance is $499 annually or $599 monthly, and Enterprise starts at $14,700 a year. The API is separate: the Discovery API starts at $16,200 a year and the Raw API at $10,000 a year.

Does Modash have a free trial?

Yes. It’s 14 days with no card and every feature, limited to 20 profile views, 6 email unlocks and 10 tracked creators.

Does a Modash subscription include API access?

No. App plans can’t be used for the API. API access is an annual contract paid by bank transfer, and Modash says it has no monthly or pay-as-you-go plans.

Which platforms does Modash cover?

Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. There’s no X, Twitch, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Facebook or Pinterest. For X and Twitch, look at HypeAuditor; for LinkedIn, Favikon.

How does Modash spot fake followers?

Its credibility score estimates the share of a creator’s followers that are real, using network graph analysis plus profile signals, with 0.75 given as the general benchmark. Audience demographics are estimated from a sample of followers and aren’t available when a follower list is private.

Modash or HypeAuditor?

Modash for most in-house teams: published prices, a no-card trial and an easier app. HypeAuditor if fraud checks are the main job or you need X and Twitch.
