Which Social API

The best TikTok scraping APIs of 2026

APIs that return public TikTok profiles, videos, comments and more.

Researched by Which Social API editorial teamLast reviewed 29 October 2026How we review

Which Social API uses a mix of qualitative and quantitative review methods, based on each provider’s documentation, published pricing and public user reviews. We never accept money in exchange for a higher ranking or a better review. Who runs this site

TikTok has no official way to read public data for a commercial product. The Display API only covers people who log in to your app, and the Research API is for approved academics and non-profits, and excludes “creators, advertisers, and commercial users”. So if you want profiles, videos or comments from creators who haven’t connected to you, every route goes through a third party.

Our view: most developers should choose between ScrapeCreators, EnsembleData and Influship, and the deciding factor is billing, not data. ScrapeCreators sells credits that never expire and covers the most. EnsembleData sells a daily allowance on a monthly plan, and is the cheapest per post and follower if you use it every day. Influship bills after use with no minimum, charges nothing for failed calls, and generates transcripts even when a video has no captions. Everyone else here is a specialist pick, or comes with terms you need to read first.

We’ve scored nine providers on reliability, accuracy, coverage, price, speed and ease of use, from their docs, published prices, status pages and what users report.

Before you choose

Headline prices on TikTok APIs are hard to compare. These matter more:

  1. Price the item, not the call. Some APIs bill per call, some per page and some per record. EnsembleData charges 2 units for 100 followers; Bright Data charges for each one. Work out the cost of 1,000 of the thing you actually need.
  2. Check what failures cost. LamaTok bills 403 and 404 responses, and Bright Data bills records that fail on a bad input. Influship doesn’t charge for failed calls, EnsembleData doesn’t charge for its own errors, and ScrapeCreators doesn’t charge for empty comment pages.
  3. Watch for expiring allowances. EnsembleData’s units reset every day and Apify’s monthly credit doesn’t roll over. ScrapeCreators credits and LamaTok balances never expire.
  4. Follower lists stop at 10,000. TikTok only exposes a creator’s 10,000 most recent followers, according to EnsembleData’s docs. Don’t plan on a full list for a big account.
  5. Counts are a snapshot. Views and followers are point-in-time, and nobody sells TikTok’s history. If you track growth, store your own timestamps.

ScrapeCreators is the TikTok API we’d start with. It’s the only single API here that returns all six data types we track: profiles, videos, comments, follower and following lists, search and transcripts. On top of that it has TikTok Shop products and reviews, the TikTok ad library, live status, trending feeds and an audience-country estimate.

Pricing is simple and fair. Credits come in one-off packs that never expire: $47 for 25,000 (about $1.88 per 1,000 calls) or $497 for 500,000 ($0.99). Most calls cost one credit, empty comment pages are free since October 2026, and cached results cost nothing. Know the exceptions: the audience endpoint costs 26 credits, and AI transcripts over two minutes cost 10 credits a minute if you opt in.

The risks are the ones that come with a small team. There’s no SOC 2 and no official SDK, only an MCP server and CLI, and its status page lists 36 past incidents across all platforms, most of them platform changes fixed within hours. It publishes all of that openly, along with a detailed changelog, which is more than most rivals do. If you’d rather pay monthly for steady daily volume, EnsembleData is the alternative.

Good

  • Covers all six data types, plus Shop, ads and live status
  • Credits never expire: $1.88 per 1,000 calls, $0.99 at volume
  • Transcripts from native captions, with an AI fallback

Not so good

  • No SOC 2 and no official SDKs
  • Small team; 36 incidents on its status page across all platforms
  • Audience-country estimate costs 26 credits a profile

EnsembleData is the strongest TikTok specialist in this list. TikTok is its deepest platform, with 20 endpoints for profiles, posts, comments, followers, liked posts, hashtag, keyword and music search, and live search. Paginated calls take a depth setting, so one request can fetch many pages, and some accept a cut-off date, which keeps incremental monitoring cheap.

Per item, it’s the cheapest serious option for posts and followers. 100 posts cost 11 units and followers cost 2 units per 100, which works out at about $0.24 per 1,000 posts and $0.04 per 1,000 followers on the $100 Wood plan. Profiles are one unit each: $2.22 per 1,000 on Wood, $0.93 on the $1,400 Platinum plan. Prices haven’t changed since at least January 2025.

The catch is the billing shape. You pay monthly for a daily allowance that resets at midnight UTC and doesn’t roll over, so spiky workloads waste money, and Wood caps you at 1,500 profiles a day. There are no transcripts. Trustpilot reviewers, several of them academic researchers, praise the support and TikTok coverage, though there are only 11 reviews. If your volume is uneven, ScrapeCreators’ never-expiring credits fit better.

Good

  • The cheapest per post and follower if you use the allowance
  • One call can fetch many pages, with date cut-offs for monitoring
  • Official Python and Node SDKs; well-reviewed support

Not so good

  • Daily units reset at midnight UTC and don’t roll over
  • No transcripts
  • API token goes in the URL, where it can leak into logs

Influship covers the TikTok data most products are built on, with 15 live endpoints: profiles, profile videos, single and batch video lookups, comments and replies, captions and transcripts, sounds, and user, video and hashtag search. Every call is a flat $0.0018, or $1.80 per 1,000, which at entry rates undercuts ScrapeCreators, EnsembleData and Apify.

It’s built for teams putting social data into production. Usage is invoiced after the fact, like the rest of your infrastructure, failed calls aren’t charged, and every response shows what it cost. The docs are unusually clear about errors and retries, there’s an MCP server and keyless x402 payments for AI agents, and whatever you spend, you get a direct line to its founders and solutions engineers. Early-stage companies can apply to its startup program.

It also generates a transcript when a video has no captions, at $0.025 for videos up to 10 minutes, which most rivals can’t. What it doesn’t sell is follower lists, trending feeds, live or TikTok Shop data. If you need those, ScrapeCreators and EnsembleData go further.

Good

  • Transcripts even when a video has no captions
  • Billed after use, failed calls free, and the cost shown on every response
  • Built for AI agents too: MCP server and keyless x402 payments

Not so good

  • No follower lists or trending feeds
  • No live or TikTok Shop data

Apify isn’t one TikTok API but a marketplace of them. The one most people use is Clockworks’ TikTok Scraper, a third-party Actor with over 369,000 users, which covers profiles, videos, hashtags and search, with paid add-ons for comments, follower lists and transcripts. That makes Apify one of only two options here, with ScrapeCreators, that reaches all six data types.

You pay for that convenience. Clockworks charges $3.00 per 1,000 results on the $19 Starter plan, falling to $1.70 on the $999 Business plan, and run starts, filters and transcripts ($0.041 a minute on Starter) are billed on top. API Dojo’s TikTok Actor costs a flat $0.30 per 1,000, so the Actor you pick matters more than the platform.

Runs are jobs, not instant calls, which suits scheduled monitoring and no-code teams better than live lookups inside an app. Problems with an Actor go to its author, not to Apify. Trustpilot shows 4.8 from 817 reviews, but at least two recent ones disclose a reward from Apify, so we don’t read much into it.

Good

  • Every data type we track, through ready-made scrapers
  • Scheduling, webhooks and no-code integrations built in
  • Cheap third-party Actors from $0.30 per 1,000 results

Not so good

  • Popular Actor costs $3.00 per 1,000 on Starter, plus add-on fees
  • Quality depends on each Actor’s author
  • Unused monthly credit doesn’t roll over

Bright Data is the safe corporate choice. It has six TikTok scrapers plus two for TikTok Shop, returns wide records (39 fields on a profile, 43 on a post, including engagement rate and commerce flags), and runs as instant calls or asynchronous jobs that deliver to a webhook or S3. It also beat Meta in court in 2024 and saw off X’s main claims before settling, which matters to legal teams.

For TikTok it’s thinner than the specialists. There are no follower lists, no hashtag scraper (you search by keyword or URL instead) and no transcripts, though posts carry subtitle links. You pay per record: $1.50 per 1,000 on pay as you go, or $1.30 on the $499 Scale plan. That’s fine for profiles but expensive for comments, which specialists sell by the page.

Pick it for bulk collection under a contract, or if you want pre-collected TikTok datasets (from $250 per 100,000 records). For a developer building a TikTok feature, ScrapeCreators or EnsembleData give you more for less. Its Trustpilot score is mostly about its proxies, and 2026 reviewers complain about an AI bot in front of support.

Good

  • Wide records: 39 fields per profile, 43 per post
  • Instant calls or async jobs delivered to a webhook or S3
  • Strong legal record against Meta and X

Not so good

  • No follower lists, hashtag scraper or transcripts
  • Per-record billing makes comments expensive
  • Records that fail on a bad input are still billed

TikAPI does something nobody else here does: OAuth. Your users connect their own TikTok account, and your app can read their feed, notifications, messages and creator analytics, and act for them: follow, like, comment and, on some plans, go live. If that’s what you’re building, it’s the only option on this list.

Its public endpoints are good too: profiles, posts, liked videos, comments, followers, hashtags, music, playlists, explore and search, with JavaScript and Python SDKs updated in July 2026. There are no transcripts, no Shop or ads data and no other platforms.

What holds it back is how hard it is to check. We couldn’t load its pricing page. Third parties report plans from $29 a month for 300 requests a day, which would be about $3.22 per 1,000 calls if you used every one. There’s no status page or public changelog, and while Trustpilot shows 4.3 from 62 reviews, 15% are 1-star, with complaints about outages and support. For public data alone, ScrapeCreators, EnsembleData or Influship are the better buy.

Good

  • The only API here with OAuth access to users’ own accounts
  • Broad public endpoints, including playlists and explore
  • JavaScript and Python SDKs, updated July 2026

Not so good

  • Pricing page wouldn’t load; prices are third-party reports
  • 15% of Trustpilot reviews are 1-star, citing outages and slow support
  • No status page, changelog or transcripts

On paper TikHub would rank near the top. It has 164 documented TikTok endpoints, more than anyone here: profiles, videos, comments, followers, every kind of search, live rooms and gifts, Shop products, the ads library and creator search insights. It’s also among the cheapest, from $0.001 a request ($1.00 per 1,000), falling to $0.0005 after 30,000 requests in a day, with no subscription.

Three things keep it down. Its terms let it sell aggregated, de-identified data derived from what customers’ requests collect, unless you opt out by email. All sales are final, with refunds only at its discretion. And its status page was down when we checked on 29 October 2026. Older GitHub issues on its Python SDK add complaints about top-ups and payments not being credited.

The API itself is messy: parallel Web, App V2 and V3 versions of the same data at different prices, and per-endpoint prices of up to $0.01 that you only see after signing up. If you’re fine with the terms and test carefully, it’s a cheap way to get breadth. Most teams should start with ScrapeCreators or Influship.

Good

  • 164 TikTok endpoints, the most in this list
  • From $1.00 per 1,000 requests, $0.50 above 30,000 a day
  • No subscription; $5 minimum top-up

Not so good

  • Terms let it sell data derived from your requests unless you opt out
  • All sales final; refunds only at TikHub’s discretion
  • Status page was down when we checked

Data365 works differently from everything else here. You create a collection task, wait for it (one to five minutes, the vendor says), then read the result from Data365’s store. That suits social-listening teams running scheduled monitoring, and it has auto-update tasks for exactly that. For TikTok it covers profiles, posts, followers, comments, and hashtag, music, keyword and profile search.

It’s the wrong shape for most developers. The entry plan is €300 a month for one network, which is a lot for a TikTok-only buyer. Posts are cheap at about €0.60 per 1,000, but a profile costs 9 credits, about €5.40 per 1,000, several times what the live APIs charge. There are no SDKs, no transcripts and no public status page, and the 14-day trial goes through a contact form.

Reviews are few and uniformly positive: 4.4 from 12 on Trustpilot. If you need Instagram, TikTok and X monitoring under one contract, it’s worth a look. For TikTok alone, EnsembleData does the job with instant responses from $100 a month.

Good

  • Auto-update tasks built for scheduled monitoring
  • Posts are cheap, at about €0.60 per 1,000
  • Named support manager and onboarding calls

Not so good

  • €300 a month minimum, for one network
  • Profiles cost 9 credits, about €5.40 per 1,000
  • Async only; no SDKs, transcripts or status page

LamaTok is a small, read-only TikTok API with 28 endpoints: profiles, followers and following, videos, liked videos, playlists, comments, hashtags, keyword search and download links. It’s run by the same team as HikerAPI, the Instagram API, and shares its pricing and billing rules.

At volume it’s cheap: $0.0006 a request once you’ve deposited $300, or $0.001 at $100. The entry is the problem. The $20 Start tier charges $0.02 a request, so $20 buys only 1,000 calls, and every tier bills 403 and 404 responses, so private and missing accounts cost you. Its own site advertises 91% uptime, and there’s no status page.

We’d skip it for most work. Its terms don’t name an operator, and the About page footer carries a Russian sole-proprietor registration without saying that entity runs the service. It says it calls TikTok through a managed pool of accounts, devices and proxies, which points to logged-in sessions. Trustpilot has withheld its sister HikerAPI’s rating over fake reviews, and LamaTok pays affiliates up to 50% lifetime commission, so read glowing third-party lists with care. ScrapeCreators ($0.99 per 1,000 at volume) and Influship ($1.80, billed after use) cost more per call and are the better buy.

Good

  • $0.0006 a request after a $300 deposit
  • Balances never expire; removed endpoints aren’t billed
  • Follower, following and liked-video lists

Not so good

  • First $20 tier costs $0.02 a request
  • Bills 403 and 404 responses; advertises 91% uptime
  • Thin company details; same team as HikerAPI

TikTok says no. Its US terms ban extracting data with bots or other automated tools without its written approval, and every provider here works against that clause. But there’s no published US court ruling on scraping TikTok. The closest cases, Meta v. Bright Data (2024) and hiQ v. LinkedIn (2022), suggest scraping public, logged-out pages isn’t unlawful access, while hiQ’s later loss on breach of contract, partly over fake accounts, shows where the line is.

Personal data is the bigger risk. In the EU and UK, GDPR covers public profiles too, and the Dutch regulator says scraping by private companies is almost always unlawful unless it’s very targeted. TikTok has a large under-18 audience, which raises the stakes. Our advice: collect only what you need, keep it only as long as you need it, steer clear of minors’ data, and prefer providers that work logged-out over those that run pools of accounts.

This is a summary, not legal advice.

Why TikTok requests fail

TikTok is harder to scrape than it looks, and it changes often. The failures that come up most in public bug trackers and vendor status pages:

Signed requests

TikTok’s web endpoints need signed parameters and device and session tokens that rotate. Open-source tools need a real browser to keep up; keeping up is most of what you pay a provider for.

Empty successes

TikTok can return HTTP 200 with an empty body instead of an error. Ask each provider how it handles that, and whether you pay for it.

Overnight changes

Page and protocol changes break scrapers without warning. yt-dlp logged a TikTok break between 31 August and 1 September 2026, and a live-stream protocol change in October.

IP blocks

TikTok blocks datacenter IPs. On 14 July 2026 EnsembleData’s status page logged TikTok banning a large batch of its IPs, which hit profile and search lookups for about six and a half hours.

Country differences

TikTok isn’t available everywhere, and feeds, search, sounds and some videos vary by region, so results depend on where a request comes from.

Questions

Does TikTok have an official API for public data?

Not for commercial use. The Display API only covers users who log in to your app, and the Research API is limited to approved academic and non-profit researchers.

Can I use the TikTok Research API instead?

Only if you’re an eligible academic or non-profit researcher. It allows 1,000 requests and up to 100,000 records a day, decisions typically take up to four weeks, and stats can lag by up to 10 days.

What’s the cheapest TikTok scraping API?

Per call, TikHub (from $0.001 a request, $0.0005 above 30,000 a day) and LamaTok ($0.0006 after a $300 deposit), both with the caveats above. Per post or follower, EnsembleData is hard to beat if you use its daily allowance. Apify’s API Dojo TikTok Actor is a flat $0.30 per 1,000 results, if a job-based scraper suits you. For most people, ScrapeCreators at $0.99–$1.88 per 1,000 calls is the best balance.

Can I get a creator’s full follower list?

Not for big accounts. TikTok exposes only the 10,000 most recent followers, according to EnsembleData’s docs. Most providers here sell follower lists; Bright Data and Influship don’t.

Which APIs return TikTok transcripts?

ScrapeCreators (native captions for one credit, with an AI fallback), Apify through add-ons on Clockworks’ TikTok Scraper, and Influship, which generates one when a video has no captions.

Is it legal to scrape TikTok?

TikTok’s terms forbid it, but no US court has ruled on scraping TikTok. Public, logged-out data is the safer ground; personal data and minors’ data carry most of the risk. See the section on the law above.

Can providers pay to rank higher?

No. We never accept money in exchange for a higher ranking or a better review.
