Which Social API

Favikon vs HypeAuditor

A LinkedIn specialist against the database that made its name catching fake followers, compared on platforms, vetting, price and API access. HypeAuditor is the better database for most teams, with more platforms and real fraud checks; Favikon is the pick only if your creators are on LinkedIn.

The quick answer

For most teams, HypeAuditor. It covers Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Twitch, claims 226.8M+ accounts against Favikon’s 10M+, and fraud checks are what it was built for: every report carries an Audience Quality Score and 35+ vetting metrics. Favikon’s AI Authenticity Score only works on LinkedIn and X, so it can’t vet an Instagram or TikTok creator the same way.

Favikon wins if your creators are on LinkedIn. Job title, company and LinkedIn Top Voice filters exist nowhere else in this category. It’s also far easier to start: there’s a free plan, and Core is €159 a month billed annually, where HypeAuditor has replaced its prices with a demo form and starts at $299 a month on an annual contract.

Pricing compared

Favikon publishes every price, in euros, and sells credits on top. HypeAuditor’s pricing page is now a demo form; the $299 entry price comes from its own blog, and everything above Basic is quoted.

If you’re building on the API

Neither API is self-serve. Favikon sells API access as an add-on from €199 a month on Core, Pro or Enterprise, through a request form, and says it covers campaign management, creator analysis and enrichment. Its API reference is hosted at listening-api.favikon.com; outside it, Favikon doesn’t publish endpoints, rate limits or authentication.

HypeAuditor’s API is a separate paid service with no public price list. The docs are public and broad: reports for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch and Snapchat, plus discovery, lists, campaign management and Instagram market analysis. Reports are built on request and return 202 while they build, so plan on polling. If fraud checks are what you want to build on, it’s the stronger API, with the broader docs.

Where each falls short

Favikon

It’s small and narrow outside LinkedIn. It claims 10M+ scored creators, its own pages disagree on whether it covers five platforms or nine, and its Authenticity Score only works on LinkedIn and X. Credits go quickly: an email costs 3, and Favikon’s own rule of thumb is 300 creators reviewed and 65 emails a month on Core. It doesn’t publish how it estimates audiences, creator payments are still “soon”, and G2 has only 14 reviews.

HypeAuditor

Buying it is harder than it should be. There are no prices on the pricing page, the entry plan is annual, and Basic leaves out AI search, the quality-score filter and advanced audience filters. G2 reviewers say the interface can feel overwhelming at first, and some say search results need checking by hand. Reviewers also report weaker coverage of local creators in smaller European markets. There’s no LinkedIn at all.

Questions

Is Favikon or HypeAuditor better?

HypeAuditor for most teams: it covers more platforms, has a much bigger database and is built around fraud checks. Favikon is better only if your creators are on LinkedIn or your programme is B2B.

Does HypeAuditor cover LinkedIn?

No. HypeAuditor covers Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Twitch. Favikon is the only database we rank that’s built around LinkedIn, with job title, company and LinkedIn Top Voice filters.

Which is cheaper?

Favikon. It has a free plan, and Core is €159 a month billed annually or €199 monthly. HypeAuditor’s own blog says Basic starts at $299 a month billed annually, and higher tiers are quoted.

Which is better at spotting fake followers?

HypeAuditor. Its reports carry an Audience Quality Score, and it claims to detect 95.5% of known fraud activity, a figure no one has audited. Favikon’s Authenticity Score only covers LinkedIn and X.

Do both have an API?

Yes, but neither is self-serve. Favikon’s is an add-on from €199 a month; HypeAuditor’s is a separate service sold through sales with no public price.
