Modash vs Influship
Two APIs built for different jobs: vetting creators, or finding them. Influship has the best search, billed after use with no minimum; Modash has the deepest filters and fraud data, if you can fund $16,200 a year.

The quick answer
For most teams building on creator data, Influship, which tops our ranking. Its search is the best in the category: semantic, so you can find creators by anything rather than by the filters a vendor built, and it returns ranked creators with written reasons and evidence, plus lookalikes and brief-fit scoring. Its audience data looks at who engages with a creator’s kind of content. It’s billed after use with no minimum, 500 free credits with no card, every endpoint price published and an MCP server for AI agents. It has no fake-follower score, so for fraud checks pair it with Modash or HypeAuditor.
Modash wins when vetting is the product. It covers Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, its reports carry audience estimates and a credibility score, and its search filters run from bio and brands to weighted audience age, gender, language and location. Modash’s catch is the $16,200-a-year minimum, paid annually by bank transfer.

Pricing compared
Both publish every price. Modash sells annual credit bundles; Influship bills what you use, in arrears, with no minimum. Per search result Modash is cheaper, but only once you’ve paid for the year.
Features side by side
If you’re building on the API
Modash’s Discovery API is the richer of the two: search with deep filters, AI search, lookalikes, collaborations, and reports with audience and credibility data, across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. A separate Raw API, from $10,000 a year, fetches live posts and comments. The docs are OpenAPI-based with free test calls and example code in Node, Python and Java. Rate limits are tight, about 2 requests a second for reports and search, shared across the account.
Influship’s API is built around semantic search. You send a brief of up to 500 characters and get up to 100 ranked Instagram or TikTok creators back, each with a score, reasons and evidence; Influship says it tracks billions of facts about tens of millions of creators. Its match endpoint scores up to 100 creators against a brief as good, neutral or avoid. The docs are detailed, especially on how failures behave, with a public OpenAPI spec, a TypeScript SDK, runnable examples and an MCP server, and every customer gets a direct line to its founders and solutions engineers.

Where each falls short
Modash
The door is expensive. The Discovery API starts at $16,200 a year, annual only, by bank transfer; there’s no monthly or pay-as-you-go plan, and app plans don’t include API access. Testing credits come through a sales call. Rate limits of about 2 requests a second are shared across every key on the account, and it covers Instagram, TikTok and YouTube only.
Influship
YouTube is coming soon: search, profiles, posts and emails cover Instagram and TikTok for now. There’s no fake-follower or credibility score, and volume discounts are agreed on request rather than published.
